As we begin to wrap up 2023 and get ready for 2024, we have a number of updates to share ☺️
Button Group and Segmented Control
We have shipped two new core MDS components, the Button Group and Segmented Control.
These two new components supersede the Content Switcher community contributed component and are officially supported by the MDS team.
Selection components guideline
We have a number of selection based components as part of the core MDS component library. Sometimes, it can be unclear what is the correct component for a given situation.
To help with this, we have created a Selection components guideline. This guideline will help you decide whether to use a Radio Group, a Checkbox Group, Segmented Control, Typeahead and more based on common usage scenarios.
Input masks
Our input component now supports input masks.
Input masks are a way of controlling how data is entered into an input field, assisting users to avoid common errors and entering invalid values e.g. for a credit card number, container number etc.
We are looking to extend input mask functionality to the input date and input time components early next year. In the meantime, we would really appreciate your feedback and suggestions with this new addition to the MDS.
